DCP is proud to announce its inaugural DCP Members Show. We invite all members to submit their photographs to this juried exhibition.
The theme for our first members competition is Contrast. It’s a word loaded with meaning and open to many forms of visual interpretation. We’re looking for strong images that illustrate the idea of contrast whether it be about light, emotion, direction or any other dissimilarity, incongruity or juxtaposition.
Selections will hang in the DCP gallery from February 20 – March 21. DCP will host an opening reception on Thursday, February 20 that is free and open to the public. Prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third winners.
December 23 – Call for entry opens
January 17 – Online submission deadline
**January 19 - Deadline Extended until 11:59pm**

Each photographer retains all copyright to his or her images. Photographers whose submissions are chosen for the exhibition grant the Dallas Center for Photography (DCP) the right to display the images in the exhibition, use their images on DCP’s website and social media platforms as well as to promote DCP’s exhibitions, programs, and in promotional and fundraising materials for all time. The artist understands that DCP will not be held responsible for loss, theft or damage whether caused by accident or by the negligence of its officers, members, or others. Application and payment to any contest or exhibition hosted by DCP will constitute an agreement to all these terms and conditions. Artists grant the use of their image(s) as stated without further contact from DCP.
Exhibiting photographers will be expected to either drop off their prints by the delivery deadline or pay for round-trip shipping of their work. If you are shipping your framed work use only plexiglass over the photos, not glass. You must include a prepaid UPS label for the return of your artwork. We take no responsibility for damage during shipping, so we suggest that you insure the work. Prints will be shipped no later than 10 days after the close of the show.
At DCP we believe that good photos deserve a place on people's walls and we support artists selling their work. DCP will handle any sales from this exhibition and will retain 30%. Sold prints can be picked up at the conclusion of the exhibition. Print the sales price on the back of each accepted piece. If it is not for sale mark it "NFS". If you don't include a sales price we will list it as NFS.
Executive Director Peter Poulides will jury this exhibition. Peter’s interest in photography started while attending an international high school in Athens, Greece where he often cut classes to spend time in the darkroom. His degree is in TV & film production with a minor in graphics and printing. He worked as an educational video producer for four years while starting to shoot stills professionally and building his portfolio.
Peter has been featured in Smithsonian Magazine, Travel & Leisure, Food & Wine, Travel Holiday, Business Week, Time, Fortune, Forbes, Newsweek, The Dallas Morning News, WGBH and others. He also shot commercial and industrial work for small and large companies including Texaco, 7-11, CompUSA, AMEX and Fluor. Peter was heavily involved in producing top-selling images for the stock photo business, shooting for Tony Stone Worldwide, which later became part of Getty Images. Today, Dallas Center for Photography keeps him busy with teaching and finding other instructors to bring world class photographic education to Dallas.
